John Wayne Airport upgrades noise complaint system

Making noise complaints about John Wayne Airport flights just got a 21st-century upgrade with the introduction of a new noise event system.
The Viewpoint system, which rolled out earlier this month, lets users report noisy flights or other issues from a smartphone or computer through its portal, which sends them to the airport’s noise and operations management system.
People can also create a profile to track anything they’ve submitted to ensure airport officials received it.
Previously, questions and complaints had to be called in by phone or emailed, and then airport staff had to manually add them to the noise management system, JWA spokeswoman Deanne Thompson said, so the new system is…
